Data we collect
We store account details, email verification state, profile fields, reviews, review photos, wants, rotation items, collections, follows, notification preferences, reports, moderation records, and basic activity needed to operate the product.
Public profile data
Public reviews, profile information, wants, rotations, comments, and public collections may be visible to other users and search engines. Avoid adding sensitive personal information to public fields.
How we use data
We use your data to run accounts, display reviews and lists, personalize discovery, explain recommendations, prevent abuse, send requested account emails, moderate content, improve performance, and maintain security.
Recommendations and future ML
Current recommendations are based on explicit profile fields, shoe specs, review signals, follows, wants, rotations, and community popularity. Future lightweight machine learning may use the same product signals to rank shoes and curate lists, with reason labels kept visible where practical.
Analytics and observability
We may collect product telemetry such as page path, Web Vitals performance metrics, error events, request logs, and device/browser metadata. This helps us keep the service fast, reliable, and secure.
We use email for account verification, password reset, email change confirmation, and product notifications you enable. You can manage notification preferences from settings where available.
Your controls
You can edit your profile, change your password, verify email, update notification preferences, export your account data, and delete your account from account settings. Some records may remain in backups or security logs for a limited period.
Storage and processors
The production system is designed for managed database, cache, object storage, CDN, email, logging, and error-monitoring providers. We only share data with service providers needed to operate Shoeboxxed.
